HIRING: Cellar/Packaging Technician

 

Wild Mind Artisan Ales is looking for a full-time (30-40 hours /week) cellarperson to join our brewing staff in Minneapolis, MN.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and knowledgeable person to join our brewing team to help us craft wild ales and continue to grow. Candidate ideally has some experience in the brewing industry or in other manufacturing operations and be willing to learn.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • CIP/Sanitation of fermenters, brite tanks, and the rest of the brewhouse

  • Cellar work including beer transfers, dry-hopping, centrifuging, and carbonating

  • Cleaning kegs and kegging finished beer

  • Packaging beer (bottles and crowlers)

  • Daily fermentation recordings (gravity, pH, temp)

  • Perform dry-hopping and fruit additions

  • Conducting raw and finished materials inventory

  • Assist in brew preparation (milling grain, setting up fermentor, etc.)

  • Receiving and storing raw materials

  • Work safely with strong chemicals

  • Picking, packing, and staging deliveries

  • Dealing with barrels: filling, transferring, blending, cleaning, and maintenance

  • Using brewery management software and keeping detailed record-keeping

  • Following set safety rules to ensure a safe work environment

  • Maintain an orderly and safe work environment in brewery/cellar and entire facility

  • Representing Wild Mind at events, as necessary


Qualifications:

  • Experience in materials handling and manufacturing operations, preferably food and beverage

  • Previous cellar/packaging experience preferred

  • Ability to work strange hours, including some nights and weekends

  • Able to work limited supervision and make informed decisions independently

  • Problem-solving and mechanical skills

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (55 lbs) repeatedly and safely

  • Ability to occasionally move heavy objects (160+ lbs)

  • Ability to work safely on ladders and other elevated platforms

  • Ability to safely operate vehicles and material handling equipment, such as vans, trucks, hand trucks, scissor lifts, etc.

  • Experience with Ekos Brewmaster a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

This position is full-time and paid by the hour. Compensation is dependent on experience and qualifications. Wild Mind paid holidays and paid time off to all full-time employees.
