Celebrate a Wild First Year with Cake
We have a lot to celebrate as we turn one year old next month. Since we opened in August 2016, we’ve accumulated 71 wine barrels, six foeders, and a custom-made coolship in our barrel room, brewed 35,464 gallons of beer, and released 51 different beers (with 23 waiting in our wood cellar). We’ve met and even surpassed all of our goals for our first year, and we’re proud of the great environment for people to gather and drink quality beer.
As we move into our second year, we’re continuing to expand our “beer to-go” options with some special, crowler-only offerings and more bottles on the way as some amazing barrel-aged beers become ready.
We decided the best way to celebrate our first birthday is with cake. We don’t bake (well), so there was only one option — a special cake beer. Since we tend to be a bit upside-down ourselves, we created a "pineapple upside-down cake” wild sour ale with pineapple puree, vanilla beans, and lactose. The beer was then aged on french oak to add some fantastic bourbon notes, which is something every birthday needs.
You’ll be able to grab a bottle of cake at our rockin’ birthday party on August 5, where we’ll toast to a great first year. Stay tuned for more details. You won’t want to miss it.
