Wild Mind Artisan Ales is looking for a part-time (30+ hours / week) Beertender to work in the Tasting Room in Minneapolis, MN. Our South Minneapolis Tasting Room is open 7 days a week and offers beer on tap and to-go.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and knowledgeable person to join our team to present our carefully crafted wild ales to new and returning customers alike. Candidate will need to be able to work nights and weekends and will ideally have some experience in the beer industry or in bar operations and be willing to learn about mixed-fermentation beer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work regular shifts in our taproom
Clean and prepare the taproom before opening and clean and close up brewery at the end of the night
Greet guests and be attentive to their needs/requests
Record transactions using our point-of-sale system and maintain responsibility for cash drawers, inventory, and recordkeeping during shift
Properly handle intoxicated guests in a safe and positive way
Fill 64oz and 750ml growlers and flip-top bottles according to Wild Mind policy
Enforce all applicable alcohol laws and rules (including ensuring that beer is only served to those over 21 years of age, and that it is served responsibly)
Comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
Adhere to and enforce all applicable local, state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
Qualifications:
Must be 21+ years of age when applying
Previous cash handling experience required
Evening, holiday, and weekend availability required
Opening, running, closing shift availability required
Working knowledge safe, responsible alcohol service required
Previous professional service industry or hospitality experience preferred
Knowledge of craft beer, the brewing process, and the local craft beer scene preferred
Must be a Cicerone Certified Beer Server or obtain certification within 3 months of employment
Dedication to learning, improving, and contributing to a dynamic and growing team required
Able to handle multiple tasks at one time efficiently and with an upbeat, friendly attitude
Commitment to following company policies and procedures required
Strong communication, collaboration, planning, self-management, and teamwork skills required
Ability to understand and follow written and spoken English directions required
Ability to understand and follow written and spoken direction in a language other than English desired
Able to stand, walk, and be on your feet for prolonged periods of time
Able to safely navigate the tasting room, service cooler, and brewery, including crowded spaces
Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, crawl, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds using appropriate techniques and tools
Able to maneuver packages of any weight above 75 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance
Able to move 165-pounds, using appropriate techniques and tools
